The JMLSG is pleased to announce that Carol Smit has been appointed as the new Company Secretary and Draftsman of the JMLSG, with effect from 1 August 2018, taking over from David Swanney.
Carol is both an advocate and accountant and has over 20 years’ experience as an executive within the financial services industry. Her extensive legal, compliance and financial background, together with her specialist skills, also led her to pivotal roles in financial crime investigations and accompanying litigation support. More recently she has consulted to international corporates across various sectors on financial crime oversight, and the implementation and drafting of AML and CTF policies and frameworks.
The JMLSG would like to take this opportunity to thank David Swanney for his invaluable contribution and dedication to the JMLSG over the past 15 years. He has been instrumental in driving the changes to the Guidance during this time and in ensuring that it is held in high regard across the financial services industry, both within the UK and internationally. We are very grateful for his efforts on our behalf.
